Preschool Curriculum

Our Preschool Program – The Butterflies & The Dragonflies

We have two preschool classrooms in our program.  One with 16 children and 2 educators (known as the Butterfly Preschool Group), and the other with 24 children and 3 educators (known as the Dragonfly Preschool Group).Love is in the air - Junior Curriculum

Our preschool program welcomes all children to learn in a fun environment enriched with activities that will enhance their social skills.  By engaging in a multitude of activities, they work on learning co-operation, sharing, and turn-taking.  Through exploration with sensory materials, books, music and art, your child will further develop curiosity, creativity and self-expression.

Based on the child’s interests, our educators will use both the indoors and outdoors to promote the development of skill such as:

  • Language
  • Problem solving and critical thinking
  • Self-help and independence
  • Emotional regulation
  • Fine and gross motor skills
  • Social skills and all-around well-being

Daily Updates

Parents have daily access to their child’s day through daily reports on Digibot (the online app used at Fairview), that will inform you about meals, toileting and naps.   Educators are readily available to communicate with parents through the ‘Digibot Chat’ feature, as well as at drop off and pick up on a daily basis.

Through Storypark, parents will have access to learning stories about their child that features photos of their child engaged in activities, as well as the learning outcomes of the activities.  Also, through Storypark, parents can share these stories with family and friends of their choosing, and share family stories with of their own with us.

A Day in the Life of Our Preschoolers

Although we have two preschool classes, the goals and outcomes are the same.  We want children to explore, be curious, ask questions and have fun.  Through both structured and unstructured activities, we believe our preschoolers are learning and growing in a supportive and loving environment.  Here is a look at what a typical day generally looks like for our preschoolers:
